Altside Scout District was formed in 2010, from the amalgamation of the former Bootle, Kirkby and Sefton East Districts, which all suffered from groups closing over the years.
The district name derives from the River Alt that meanders into the North East corner of the district, by Maghull and Aintree. More information about the river, can be found here.
Since 2010, the district has grown in both youth and adult members and has successfully hosted events and camps, with over 600 youth members attending.
The district badge shows 14 stars, one for each group in the district. The groups cover Aintree, Bootle, Litherand, Kirkby, Maghull and Netherton.
